As at Thursday 18 March 2021, 90mm to 200mm of rain is forecasted for Saturday 20 March. This amount of rain makes running L’Étape Australia unsafe, especially with the possibility of debris being washed onto the road at the descents.
Therefore, Lateral Events, in consultation with the NSW Government Agencies and in agreement with Kiama Municipal Council, the Shoalhaven City Council and the Wingecarribee Shire Council, have decided to cancel this weekend’s L’Étape Australia by Tour de France.
We do this with a heavy heart, but rider safety is of paramount importance.
On Monday 22 March, we will start processing the registration fees refunds. Each riders will receive a full refund, less $10 of administration fee, as per the event’s T&Cs. This administration fee will help cover the registration platform fee.
A cancellation FAQ is available below.
The next edition of the event will be planned for early December 2021 and the exact dates will be announced soon.
Why is the event being cancelled?

Safety is our number one priority, and it was decided to not stage the event to preserve everyone’s safety.
