The 5th edition of L’Étape Australia by Tour de France is scheduled for 19-20 March 2021. We believe and we hope that the Covid-19 pandemic won’t affect the event and we are working on delivering L’Étape Australia as announced.

We appreciate no one can predict what the exact situation will be in March 2021, and we want to eliminate this uncertainty and allow you to set yourself a late year challenge to look forward to.

We have therefore decided to implement a Covid-19 specific policy. This policy will apply to all registrants, including riders who registered in December 2019.

If the Government’s restrictions on staging events due to Covid-19 result in the rescheduling of L’Étape Australia, or the cancellation of the event, riders will be issued with a credit, valid for two years, or a refund, if future L’Étape Australia dates are unsuitable for them.
Should a rider decide to receive a refund, she/he will receive the amount paid at the time of registration minus any credit card fee and a processing fee of $10.

If the NSW restrictions allow the event to proceed but some States have official restrictions in place preventing their people to travel to NSW, registrants living in these specific States will be entitled to our Covid-19 Policy.

We trust this policy answers your questions and allow you to set yourself the goal of riding L’Étape Australia with your friends and family in November!

Onsite safety measures

As a major event, L’Étape Australia holds bi-monthly meeting with all the NSW Government Agencies. During these meetings, L’Étape Australia is provided with recommendations by the different agencies in order to adapt its operations to the current situation.

L’Étape Australia has now developed a range of measures to ensure the safety of our staff, all participants, visitors and local residents. As Covid-19 restrictions, such as social distancing, differ from week to week, we will amend the measures accordingly and communicate them when they are made final.

Lateral Events, the organiser of L’Étape Australia, has 23 years of upscale event management experience which, coupled with the advice and assistance of NSW Government agencies, enable us to provide the safest, and most professional events possible.
