We are happy to announce that Amanda Spratt will be once again our ambassador for L’Étape Australia by Tour de France.

L’Étape Australia is pleased to be one of the only cycling events to have a female ambassador. Amanda has been our ambassador since 2017 and has participated in L’Étape Australia by Tour de France as a member of the Penrith Cycling Club since the first event in 2016.

Amanda is eager to share her passion and encourage more women to ride their bike.  Apart from L’Étape, you will have the opportunity to meet Amanda on the ‘Ladies Ride’.  This is a casual ride that includes breakfast with the pro cyclist. This event is exclusively dedicated to women and limited to 50 people. More to come!

We believe Amanda represents the cycling we love, and we are proud to have her as our Ambassador for L’Étape Australia by Tour de France 2021.

Welcome back, Amanda!

Lateral Events are pleased to announce the 5th edition of L’Étape Australia by Tour de France is scheduled to take place on Sunday 28th November 2021, following extensive consultation with Councils and community members.

Travelling through Kiama, the Shoalhaven and the Southern Highlands, L’Étape Australia will bring over 4,000 riders, plus their friends and family, into the region for several days later this year.

The Event Village, held at Coronation Park in Kiama, will open Saturday 27th November 2021, providing visitors the chance to enjoy local food and beverages while soaking up the Tour de France atmosphere. Riders, and their friends and family, are encouraged to explore the region and visit local shops and restaurants. There will be no road closures on the Saturday.

“We encourage our riders to spend as much time in the region as possible, not only on the weekend of the event, but throughout the year” Race Director Florent Malézieux said.

Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney Stuart Ayres said cycling enthusiasts would be blown away by the natural surrounds and warm hospitality of the area.

Fans have been waiting for the debut L’Étape Australia event in the South Coast and Southern Highlands regions, and when they get there in November we’re sure they’ll have an unforgettable experience enjoying the sights and delights of regional NSW,” Mr Ayres said.

The team at Lateral Events are pleased to be making this announcement, following the disappointment of postponing the 2020 event due to Covid, and then having to cancel the postponed event due to torrential rain that hit the region in March 2021.

Registrations for the event will open in the coming weeks, and riders are invited to register their interest via the form below. Riders registering their interest will be given access to the registration platform before it opens to the general public.
